Analysis
ChatGPT's reach in Germany surged from 20% in April 2025 to 30% by December 2025, gaining 10 percentage points in eight months. Google Gemini nearly doubled over the same period, climbing from 9% to 18%. TikTok added 6 points to peak at 60%, while Temu followed a seasonal arc, reaching 53% in October before declining after the holiday shopping period. WhatsApp remained the saturation reference point at approximately 84% throughout. Note: February–March 2026 data shows reduced reach across all apps, reflecting panel composition shifts rather than user behaviour changes.

Methodology
Monthly AGOF-weighted reach, expressed as a share of active panel base. Source: Google Play Store app-use event stream. Each month uses an independent base of German internet users (16+) with ≥1 app-use event in that month, re-raked on age × gender × education against AGOF de_online_population marginals (67 million reference population). This monthly re-weighting controls for seasonal panel composition shifts. Monthly bases range approximately 6,000–10,000 panelists (reduced in February–March 2026). 95% confidence intervals shown in chart tooltips.
